August 2, Quietwoods Campground, Hackensack, Mn

Today was a unique day in that we rode almost all 72 miles on a bike trail.  The Paul Bunyan bike trail, which parallels the Mississippi River,  took us virtually from campsite to campsite.  It was paved the entire way however there was a stretch of 10 to 15 miles of bumby, cracked roads which made biking painfulat times. We saw statues of Babe, Paul Bunyan's blue ox companion.  We also stopped in Hackensack, where there was a statue of Paul Bunyan's girlfriend.  Quietwoods campground is a private campground on a lake.  Tents had to be packed tightly due to limited space.  On a positive note it has running water, showers and electricity.
