Today started out as another rainy day but soon transformed into a sunny day by noon. We decided to visit Granville Island and the public market. We walked to the water to take a small ferry ride to get to the island. The ferry was small too, only holding 12 passengers max. Even the ferry tickets were small. The market area has several art galleries and shops in addition to a really amazing food market which spanned multiple buildings. We enjoyed lunch (Prosciutto and fig sub with melted Brie on top) on the steps of the marina. There we encountered the first sunshine of our vist. The sun felt good in the 55 degree weather. We walked to the far side of the island to Ron Basford Park where we sat and ate cherries (from the market) before walking past Sea Village. which has rows of houseboats that look like real homes. The cube shaped homes have a great view of the buildings across the water. On our way back to the ferry we stopped to listen to a talented muscian playing outside the market. Lastly a snapped a picture of the skyline from our hotel. This will be our last night in Vancouver as tomorrow we board the Holland America Noordam.
