Aug 20, Super 8 Hotel, Lewistown, MT

Today was a layover day.  The weather was cool with light rain. We were able to bike around Lewistown to see the downtown and surrounding neighborhoods. There is a short rail to trail bike path around the city that we enjoyed.  Most of the buildings here were built around 1886 including the courthouse pictured below.  We stopped in the Central Montana museum.   It was filled with a combination of artifacts,  fossils, and information about life in Central Montana since Lewistown was founded in 1885. We learned that Croatian stonemasons built a lot of commercial buildings in Lewistown.   We met Cathy who works in the museum.   She has lived most of her life in Lewistown. We had a great lunch at the Central Feed Company and biked through more neighborhoods before returning to our hotel.  Dinner was across the parking lot at Doc's Casino and Sports Bar and Grill.  Tomorrow we move on to Stanford.
