When we left Jordan this morning I took two pictures of the town. Jordan is both the largest town and county seat of Garfield County. This is hard to imagine since the town is only a few blocks long. The temperature was 75 degrees and thanks to cloud cover the morning remained comfortable. The landscape was pretty but not noticeably different from previous days. Maybe it is because we have been biking down the same highway, Route 200, for several days. Today was 75 miles of rough surfaces with no turns. There were just two places to stop. The first was a convenience store/post office in Sand Springs at the 31 mile mark and a standard rest stop at the 52 mile mark. We have seen a change in wildflowers lining the road. Now they look like some type of sunflower. We had a bit of chaos with our accommodations for the night. Monte called to confirm our reservation and was informed that there were no working bathrooms at the RV park. Obviously that would not work for us. Monte made many calls to places in Winnett and was able to find only two motel rooms. After booking them he found a Baptist church that would let us sleep in their building. The motel rooms were non-refundable so we split our group between the two places. Crisis averted we happily dined in the basement of the church.
