Ketchikan was the port for today. We spent the morning walking through town and visiting the local stores. In the afternoon we boarded the Aleutian Ballad, a crabbing ship that became popular on the show The Deadliest Catch. It was noted for capsizing in 60 foot waves and the entire crew had to abandon ship. Fortunately there was another ship in the area to pluck the crew out of the water and save their lives. Our voyage was much more calm. We saw a fishing ship haul in a load of salmon. Our ship stopped by an island full of Bald Eagles which were attracted to our crabbing boat throwing fish overbaord. After pulling in crabs cages, we were able to hold king crabs. rock crabs, star fish, and other sea life. The evening entertainment was a dancing production and two shows at our favorite piano bar. Tomorrow is a day at sea as we sail to Vancouver.
