Another great day with clear, sunny weather, although a bit warm, around 88 degrees. This was our first 70 mile day of the trip. The first 40 miles were on the Erie Canal path with the remainder on the road. At that transition point Laura's bike started making a loud tapping noise. Despite our best efforts we couldn't find the source. Luckily there is a bike shop near the hostel so we will get it checked out in the morning. It was so hot that we ran out of water and stopped next to a church to sit in the shade of a tree. Three of our fellow cyclists came up and joined us under the tree, also out of water. I saw a spigot on the side of the church and we filled all of our bottles with cool, clear water. Leaving the church I glanced up at the marquee on the lawn which read "Jesus said: "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink", John 7:37". I had to stop and take a picture of the marquee. The other cyclists couldn't believe it when I showed them the picture at dinner. We entered into Canada and rode past Niagra Falls before riding to the Gorge View Hostel on the American side. Tomorrow is thankfully a layover day.
