July 10, Murtaugh Home, Beachwood, OH

We left our lake front campground and set out for John Murtaugh's home.  John is a fellow cyclist on the route.  He and his wife Elaine have opened their home to us for the night.  The ride was a blend of urban and suburban towns.  Paynesville and Mentor were two of the towns we biked through.  Mentor is the home of James Garfield, our 20th president.  The route paralled the Lake Erie shore but did not provide great views of the lake.  Weather was nice and sunny with a high of 80 degrees.  We had a bonus of stopping at a REI to peruse all types of camping gear.
