We had an early start to our day with a 7:30 am excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park. Tierra del Feugo means Land of Fire. Our stops included four different areas of the park with incredible views of the Andes Mountains on the Argentine/Chile border. The weather seemed to change by the minute, going from cold and rainy to warm and sunny. Our tour concluded with some drinks and sweets at the visitor's center.
On our return the bus let us off in downtown Ushuaia (which translates to "Deep Bay"). We were able to find the commercial district which was decorated for Christmas. Laura had a great time browsing the shops and searching for christmas presents.
It was then back to the ship where we had a late lunch and a Port Talk about Punta Arenas, our next stop.
Before we could make it to dinner the ship began sailing through the Avenue of the Glaciers. We pulled a chair up to the window, grabbed some food from the cafe and watched the glaciers go by. We were too tired to see the music show tonight. Fortunately the shows are taped so we will be able to see it at our leisure.
