Today was our second day at sea. We slept in a bit so we skipped breakfast and went straight to the gym. We attended a lecture on the landscape and wildlife that we should see during our cruise. It is the end of the breeding season for Southern Right Whales but we may still be able to see some whales before they head to their feeding grounds. We visited the Sun Deck for the first time. Laura had no problem relaxing in the sun. I was looking overboard and saw some dolphins and birds. We ventured up one more deck to the Sports Deck and couldn't resist a round of minature golf. After lunch there was another lecture, this time covering our next port of call, Puerto Madryn. The port was established by the Welsh in July of 1865. To this day Puerto Madryn has the largest Welsh population outside of Whales. Puerto Madryn is in the province of Chubut in Argentine Patagonia.
Dinner was a real hit tonight. Not only were there lots of lobster tails for everyone but there was Beef Wellington. I am not a foodie but it was by far the best Beef Wellinton I ever tasted. Our evening concluded with a music show honoring songs from the best broadway musicals. Tomorrow our excursion will take us three hours south to search for Magellanic penguins. They are breeding this time of year so if we are lucky we may even see some baby penguins.
