At Sea, Dec 5 2025

Today was a day At Sea.  After breakfast we went to the gym and Laura continued on to the Spa.  This morning's lecture was on "What killed the Dinosaurs".  Essentially, it is believed to be a 7 mile wide asteroid that hit the earth close to Cozumel, Mexico.  It had a devastating effect on the dinosaurs and created an opening for mammals to evolve.

We had another nice suprise at lunch, this time roast pig was featured along with all of our ususal favorites.  For the first time we went to afternoon tea.  We joined our new friends, Sue and Wayne, for tea and desserts.  Wayne worked for Hewlett Packard for 37 years and Sue was a marketer who traveled internationally for companies like Procter & Gamble.  They live in Loveland, Colorado.

Our afternoon lecture was on Seabirds.  We saw many examples of the birds we are likely to encounter on our cruise.  The Wildlife Watch session reported seeing 10 Southern Right whales and a large number of dolphins.

After dinner we listened to a talk on Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands.  We will tender ashore tomorrow for our excursion.
