Today was arguably one of the toughest days of the tour. We biked 74 miles with 5,773 ft of elevation. There was a nice bakery in Mazama that we couldn't resist stopping in and then we headed through the North Cascades over Washington Pass (5,477 ft) and then Rainy Pass (4,875 ft). The smell of smoke was in the air and we passed at least one active fire as we descended Washington Pass. It was a challenging but scenic day with perfect weather.
