May 3, 2025 Solta, Croatia

Today we checked out of our wonderful Trogir hotel and made our way to the dock to find our ship the YOLO (You Only Live Once).  We were able to drop off our luggage but could not board for an hour so we went back into Old Town Trogir and toured St John the Baptist Church.  It was a small church and most of the statues were damaged from reasons unknow to us.

We boarded the YOLO and were happy to see that our cabin had a great location, 3 windows and a glass door.  The cabin was larger and more modern than we expected.  The YOLO was built in 2019 with 4 lounging areas and a hot tub.  We were served lunch and set sail for the island of Solta.

Within minutes of docking the crew had our bicycles set up on shore.  Laura and I are used to cycling on our own but this tour has us cycling in one large group of about 34 cyclists.  Another surprise was that about 80% of the group rented E-bikes. That made it a challenge for us to keep pace with the group especially while climbing hills.  Our one real stop was at Tvrdic Honey, a bee keeping farm.  There we learned about honey bees and the different types of bees in a hive.

We returned to the ship and had enough time to explore the different areas of the ship.  Once everyone was on board we set sail for the island of Hvar while the crew prepared dinner for us.  It was a nice meal but too much food for serious cyclers.  Tomorrow we will be challenged with a morning tour followed by a longer and more hilly afternoon tour.  We were told that some harsh weather is approaching and that may change our itinerary on Monday.
