May 18 2025 Trogir, Croatia

Today we took the ferry to Split.  It was a one hour scenic ride down the coast.  We were there over a week ago but only for a walking tour.  We were able to take our time and see Split in more detail.  There are so many ornate things to see on the walls and in the alley ways.  We purchased a ticket that gave us entry into the cathedral, bell tower, baptistry, crypt and treasury.  At one point I was approached by two Roman guards but luckily I had my sword with me and was able to fight them off.  Tomorrow is our last full day in Croatia.

Crypt of St Lucy.  Emperor Diocletian was buried here.  He was cruel to the christians so his sarcophagus was removed and never seen again.  It was replaced with St Lucy in the 4th century.

Ornate baptismal font in the Baptistry.

The Treasury is filled with valuable artifacts from the past.
