Today was our last day of cycling for this group. Laura and I will continue for a second week which offically starts on Saturday, May 10. We started on one side of the island of Brac and ended up on the other, about 25km away. During the ride we stopped at the town of Postira. It happens to be the hometown of our captain. There was an amazing sidewalk there made out of stones in the sidewalk. We could see the YOLO sailing along the island as we cycled the shoreline. We boarded the YOLO and during lunch we sailed to Split, the second largest city in Croatia. Split's downtown was built in the third century. It is dominated by the palace of the emperor of Rome, Diocletian, at that time, 305 AD. Now it is full of shops and restaurants and of course, churches. Our guides led us on a hike to the highest point in Split, Marjan Hill. It is 187 meters above sea level and is noted for the large, 13 meter high, cement cross at the top. The descent tested the strength in our legs and gave us an appetite. We dined in the largest square in Split at a restaurant called Macos before retiring to the YOLO for the night.

Another beautiful day! YOLO seems ideal. 3rd Century...everything seems pristine, well maintained. Looking forward to hearing all about it!
