This morning we sailed from Zadar to the city of Molat on the island of Molat. It is a small island so we cycled to the other end of the island to the city of Zapuntel and back for a total of 18 km. The island is one of the smallest in the Dalmations with a population of about 200. The city is noted for having a concentration camp for mothers and their children from June of 1942 to September of 1943. It is hard to imagine that there were 30,000 women and children in this camp. About 1,000 did not survive their stay. I was able to stop at a cemetary and memorial to those who died in the concentration camp.
The YOLO sailed to a quiet spot and dropped anchor so we could enjoy swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking. Of course Laura was the first to brave the cold water and swim about the ship.
During lunch the YOLO sailed to the island of Dugi Otok and the port town of Bozava. Our afternoon ride was one of the longest and most challenging of the trip and also one of the most enjoyable. The YOLO sailed on to meet us in the town of Sali where will will overnight.

Wow...that hairpin road! And on a bicycle!!! A 6 grade? Ice cream must be everyone's favorite. Without words for the beauty of the water. Hard to believe the horrors of this World. May there be Peace on Earth.
