May 7 2025 Pvcisca (Brac)

Today was a full day of activity.  Our ship sailed out around 6:00 am and we arrived in Sucuraj harbor around 9:30.  We set off for a 52 km ride while the YOLO set our to meet us at the other side of the island in the city of Jelsa, a city we cycled through a few days ago.  It was an undulating ride with very few stops as there were no toilets or restaurants until Jelsa.  It was another picture perfect day for cycling with lots of sun and a cooling breeze.  There was one close call for Laura as an oncoming truck was speeding and took a wide turn on a narrow road coming across the center line leaving Laura only a few feet to navigate between the truck and the right side of the road and an eight foot drop.  Fortunately she did not panic, held her ground and continued around the curve.  Our ride continued through the small residentail areas of Bobomolje, Gdinj, Zastrazisce and finally into Jelsa.  We quickly boarded and anchored just outside of Jelsa.  After another amazing lunch the captain opened up the back of the boat for swimming and paddle boarding.  Laura could not resist getting into the cold water and taking a short swim.  After about an hour of swimming we set sail for Pvcisca on the island of Brac.  During our sail we were treated to a lecture on the Croatian language.  Even though we were totally confused with how to speak Croation we really enjoyed the presentation.  Tonight's dinner was an outdoor barbeque on the back of the top deck.

Oh Laura, Grateful for Road Angels!
I am captivated by The blue of the sea, the cleanliness of the country and hamburgers & French fries are a staple. Safe travels 🙏
